Geocache Description:

This cache is a 7.62mm ammo box located on the Luxapalila Creek in Alabama.

Ready for some HYDROCACHING? This ammo box is located on the bank of the Luxapalila Creek between Kennedy and Millport. To avoid tresspassing on private land, you must follow the creek (read: bring a towel). You WILL get wet on this on, so plan ahead. The area on both sides of the bank have grown up a lot since the cache was placed, and now it's actually easier to get to the cache through the water than even trying to access by land from the parking coordinates. The difficulty rating will vary depending on the level of the creek, but averages from about 4 to 4.25(when we placed it, the water ranged from shin to waist deep). Be forewarned: This cache is not recommended for when the creek's up. You will be walking (wading) against the current, and the cache is about .9mi from the parking coordinates listed below. There is an alternate route. If one were inclined to get to this cache with a canoe or kayak, one could put in the creek in Kennedy and float down to the cache. Bridge-to-bridge is about 5.5 miles. This is also a prime hunting area, so if you go during hunting season (not recommended...cold water), be sure to wear your orange. And definitely be on the lookout for snakes and things 'round here.
