The first cache for myself an my eldest son Logan. Chosen by my son and I because it's a place we like to visit from time to time.
Stoney Creek is a nice little community park with a playground, a grass maze, and a really nice walking trail. My boys and I come here all the time throughout the year. Obviously spring and summer are best, but a nice fall or even winter day will bring us out, as it's a stones throw (pardon the pun) from our house.
Usually the boys and I pack a picnic lunch and hike back to the location where the cache was placed. We'd sit on the abandoned railway line, eat our lunch and think about how cool it would be to hop an freight train and see where it took us. (I'm sure every little boy has though of that at one point in time.)
There are a number of hawks which frequent this park, it's fun to watch them fly around and chase each other and to hunt down a meal. Plenty of rabbits and squirrels to provide distractions as well.
The cache is placed near our favorite lunch spot, very neatly conceiled. Bring your kids, pack a lunch, and enjoy our little spot.
Cache is stocked with a log book and pen and a whole bunch of packs of sillybands. (the favorites of all three of my boys. They were even considerate enough to supply some packs of girl-themed silly bands.)
A geocoin and travel bug are making their debute in this cache as well.
