Geocache Description:

A series of 22 traditional caches plus a bonus on a circular walk of 3.5 miles from Holly Hill. Most of the caches are 35mm film pots, with 2 (numbers 5 and 11) being slightly larger for trackables and small items of trade. An extension of 8 caches plus another bonus, between caches 3 and 4 is optional (but well worthwhile) making the total route 5 miles and 32 caches.

There is a shortage of caching series in this part of Kent, and this small series is an attempt to begin to rectify this situation. The caches are intended to be completed in a single walk, and the route can be undertaken in either direction. A waypoint is provided for the Holly Hill car park at cache 1, and I suggest the walk is started from there. Facilities include car parking and, well, that’s it really, just parking but it is free. Note there is a height restriction (as pointed out by RubyShoos) of 2.0m. Any other facilities you may need will have to be found en route. Also note the car park is locked 30 minutes after dusk. There are limited other points on the route for parking, although it is possible to park in Harvel, but this would entail a second visit to Holly Hill at the end of your walk, as the bonus is near Holly Hill. There are no shops en route, although the Amazon and Tiger pub at Harvel is well worth a visit at half time.

In summer insect repellent is strongly recommended (See logs in July).

Navigation should be pretty straightforward, but I have added a couple of tips in the text on the cache pages of 10 and 11B to keep you on track.

Update 10 July:- Extension added. This stretch is nice walking.

Update 12 August: - Cache 11 moved due to some concern over its position. As a result I have had to extend the route by almost half a mile, and it will be necessary to walk a few hundred meters along a country road. To relieve any boredom on this stretch I have slotted in a couple more micros (11A and 11B).

Remember to collect the numbers at each cache for the bonus coordinates, and also to bring a pen. Enjoy your walk.
