Geocache Description:

A cache on point

One Mile Beach is really worth a visit. The south corner is protected from the southerlies and it has the finest sand. In the car park are coin operated gas BBQs and some tables and chairs. The amenities include public showers. There is also a general store if you have forgotten anything. A nice place to spend the day ... or a week!

You can locate the start of a track at the carpark or at the south end of the beach. There are a number of paths to the cache and which you choose will determine the scenery you see as you approach the cache – my favourite was finally following the “wide” track (about as wide as a car) and when coming out of the scrub being presented with a view down the south coast.

One way or the other, once you’re near the cache you will need to do a bit of rock hopping. All in all it should only take about 15 to 20 minutes from your car to the GZ. Near the GZ I saw a small snake skin (about 30cm long) hence the attribute – may be worth a check before poking your hands into any holes.

On the way back you’ll soon learn that all the tracks look pretty much the same – I just followed the voices of my kids swimming at the beach on the last leg of the return trip.
