Army Post? Traditional Geocache
mhoefing: I am archiving this one because of the changing route to it. It is not as safe as it used to be and I don't want anyone to get hurt. One or two more decent storms and you might not be able to get here.

Is this an army post? Depends on how you look at it. This cache can NOT be reached from the Interstate or Highway 5.
This used to be the main intersection for Army Post Road and the interstate when it was Iowa Highway 5. Iowa 5 had the same route along Army Post Road from 1969 until 1997, when sections of a southern bypass, completed in 2002, were opened.
Please do not drive around the first barricades because the road after that is in bad shape. I would not want someones car to cause the road to collapse and have a car get damaged.
