A series of five caches on a 2 mile circular walk near Lowsonford.
Bagheera is a black-toned Indian Leopard featuring in The Jungle Book (1894) and The Second Jungle Book (1895).
Bagheera is born in captivity and escapes to the jungle. His guile and knowledge of human behaviour win him respect from all but Shere Khan the tiger.
When Mowgli is adopted by wolves and the pack asks for the new cub to be spoken for it is Bagheera that buys the life of the man cub by providing a kill. Bagheera continues to be a key part of Mowgli's life, taking watch over the boy's upbringing.
Oddly the Leopard is not part of the Leopard genus/group. The Leopard species is part of the Panther group, and is closely related to Lions and Tigers. The Leopard group (Leopardus) is more obscure and includes species such as the Ocelot.
Bagheera is a short walk uphill from Tigger, at the entrance to an evergreen wood.
NOTE If you are diverting from the series here to pick up Warren with a View, please leave the wood along the public footpath and use the rights-of-way to reach it. The land owner has noted people crossing the fields and climbing fences to cut the corner.
