Bring your best "corny" jokes and your gps'r to the King Corn corn
maze, located just east of I-5 at exit 221 near Conway. The basic
event is free and open to anyone who is interested in geocaching --
beginners are especially welcome to come and join in the fun.
There will be lots of fun activities for the whole family to
enjoy -- exploring the spiderweb-themed corn maze, meeting fellow
geocachers from the area, sitting around a campfire enjoying a
barbecued cheeseburger with all the trimmings, and of course
finding some geocaches!
Here's a checklist of things to remember:
- Dress in warm layers for outdoor activities, and bring
flashlights and folding lawn chairs for your group.
- The admission charge for the corn maze is $5.00, kids 6 and
under are free (this is a special group rate for us!) If you're
feeling adventurous, head into the maze and search for hidden
geocaches containing corny clues to a special cache location nearby
-- the maze takes about 45 minutes to navigate. There's also a
hayride to enjoy, a volleyball court, and a campfire to chase off
any cool weather. Don't have a gps yet? No problem! Geocaching is
always more fun with a group, and you can join up with other fellow
geocachers to hunt for those elusive caches hidden in the
maze.
- Work up an appetite tromping through
the maze? A great geo-meal-deal, including the maze admission, a
freshly-grilled cheeseburger, roasted corn on the cob, pop, and ice
cream will be available for a total of $10.00 per person or $5.00
for the 6 and under gang (since their maze admission is free).
- There's also lots of room for other activities -- bring a kite,
a football, or a frisbee and enjoy fun outdoor activities on a
crisp fall afternoon.
As always, please post a "will attend" note to the page here as
soon as possible so we can let the folks at the corn maze know how
many to expect for the maze and the meal.
Please send an email through
this link if you have any questions or if you are able to
assist with organizing the games at the maze or donating a door
prize.
Hope to see you all there!
