YaXaik Trail – Fern Gully Traditional Cache
YahotsWalker: This was an exciting trail when it was dedicated and we (BirkieHiker & YahotsWalker)) were in much better shape! However, we regrettably need to take down this series of caches since it is too difficult to maintain them. BH

Welcome to the Ya’Xaik (pronounced YAH + gargled h + long I + hard k) Trail! The Ya’Xaik name itself comes from the only known village name of the Alsea people who lived in this area, honoring their long and thriving presence in this special place.
This is the local nickname for this view from the trail. Hear the silence of the woods and the wind in the trees and just relax to the water sounds of Mitchell Creek and an another, as yet unidentified creek that small bridges cross over.
All caches are along the trail so no need to bushwhack! Practice responsible caching as stay on the trail and remember trade; don’t take. While the Ya’Xaik Trail is dog friendly, animals are Not Permitted on the trail through Gerdemann Botanical Gardens. You are looking for a round 2x6 container
