"Point of the Sea Wolves", from which Point Lobos park gets it's
name. You can usually hear them here, and if you look out at the
guano-covered rocks, a shelf on the right side usually holds a few.
There are other places in the park (including a rock nearby) where
harbor seals will pull out, but Sea Lions usually keep to the rocks
offshore.
Please be careful on the rocks, do not venture out if the waves
are unusually high, and do not leave the paths, even though you may
see other tourists do so.
If $10 or so seems like a steep entrance fee, you can park on
the roadside North of the entrance and walk into the park for free.
Although it's a bit of a hike, you get to see even more of the
beautiful park.
Note: It is not necessary to leave the path or to cross
over a black guide wire in order to find the cache. Do not bother
searching in any area that would require you to do so.
