Geocache Description:

Stephen Foster is known as one of America's most influential songwriters, and is considered to be "the father of American music." The clue to this geocache is in one of his songs which was published in 1850. Stephen wants you to sing his song all day long! "Doo dah! Doo dah! Oh! Doo dah day!"

Some of his most popular songs include the following:
Oh, Susanna,
My Old Kentucky Home,
Beautiful Dreamer,
Old Black Joe,
Jeanie With the Light Brown Hair,
CAMPtown Races,
Dear Hearts and Gentle People,
Nellie Was a Lady,
Old Folks at Home (a.k.a.) Way Down Upon the Swanee River.

In Pennsylvania, the Lawrenceville Historical Society hosts an annual Stephen Foster Music and Heritage Festival known as “Doo Dah Days!” which celebrates his life and music as one of the most influential songwriters in American history.

In addition, January 13, "Steven Foster Memorial Day" is an annual United States Federal Observance Day.

Please BYOP... Oh!  Doo dah day!

Congratulations to Hostanut for FTF!
