Mount Watatic is located on the border of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The .9 mile trail starts at a parking area on Rt. 119. (There is another parking lot that leads to a more gradual ascent.)
This is our very first cache and we stashed it while chaperoning a geological field trip with North Central Charter Essential School. The cache is a tightly lidded plastic tub with lots of silly things inside. Among them are a homemade soda bottle wave toy, some anti-tobacco pins (tobacco rots!)along with a mini nerf dart crossbow, some pretty red glass "pocket stones" (we don't believe in "WORRY stones")a small calculator, and a deck of playing cards from Las Vegas.

Glad to see the cache restored- made an attempt in July and wasn't able to locate, so now I know why. Was a very busy day for the mountain as many were out and about on a beautiful and mild Nov. day. TNLN, TFTC

OleSeeker and I enjoyed a mid-afternoon hike on the Wapack and Mid-State trails and were treated with splendid vista along the way. It took a bit of searching, a check of the hint and still a bit more before I spied the well camouflaged container. Thanks SRT4Guy for restoring the cache. It sure is a beautiful spot to visit.

Photo Stone Marker near the summit

Glad to see this cache back in action. When a traffic jam delayed us from getting all the way to Monadnock this afternoon, Bigrock95 and I settled on hiking a bit of the Wapack trail instead. It was already near sunset when we arrived at the summit but the views were rewarding. It took a bit of searching, too, before BR came up with the container. Thanks for restoring it.

SuddenlyFound and I were hoping that this one would become available again. When we found out it was back, I left work, picked her up and we went directly to GZ. Ahhhh, finally. We tried this one a few weeks back but found out that it hadn't been there for a few months. We knew that we were searching the right place but couldn't add it to our list until now. Thank you srt4guy!!! This was a very satisfying find. TN L - DeliGuy's Rhode Island 2008 Quahog TravelBug, SL TFTC...next!!!

SRT4GUY you are the best! Thanks a bunch for replacing the missing cache! We though it was fitting that since we met you up on the top of Watatic that it should be our duty to log the next find on this one since we couldn't find it that day (since it wasn't there!) and you spotted us "up to no good"!! I just happen to be searching for this one today to check on it again and saw your log from this past weekend and told GeoCrashThatch that it was up on the mountain again and we had to get log it! Well since we had hiked the first time, we thought we'd short cut it and took the 4-wheeler tonight so we could be the firsts to get it since you put the new one up! What a BLAST!! We parked at the cousins' house and rode up the street and into the fields and found the trail to the top of the mountain! It was cool being a little on the wild side this evening again, taking the 4-wheeler near dusk and riding with my hubby into the woods! We found it exactly where we were looking the first time! Since there was no travel bug, we decided to put our first found Deliguy's Rhode Island 2008 Quahog Travel Bug in there tonight!
TNSL, L-QUAHOG TRAVEL BUG!!!

Once a muggle, but now I'm SuddenlyFound!
