The cache is hidden just off a main hiking trail in scenic Washington Park near Anacortes.
The cache is a small tupperware container with a pink lid hidden at the foot of a large basalt out-cropping. This unique spot is a remarkable example of the extreme power of glacial ice in the area during the last ice age. A giant boulder trapped in a massive glacier was ground against this rock wall with such force that...well, you'll just have to see for yourself. The most direct route to the cache is via the Burrows Channel Trail (Trail head is at 48 29.613N 122 41.799). This trail and many others start on the Washington Park Loop Road, a 2 mile one lane drive that skirts the park and gives a great tour of the area. Park at the lookout point just past the Burrows Channel trailhead, or I recommend parking in the main parking lot and walking the 2 mile loop to fully enjoy the beaches and views of Washington Park. The cache is hidden by stones and would be otherwise in plain view to all muggles. Please replace the stones carefully to conceal the container.
