The title "Devil's Ladder" was in reference to a tree that
unfortunately met its end 2005 when some vicious ladies came to
town: Katrina, Rita and Wilma. The area has rebounded nicely. The
cache description below is preserved as written by the original
owner, Domino with one last comment from me at the bottom in
italics.
The First Coordinates are just to get you in our environment. IT
IS FREE(except during special events)!!!! But,bring a picnic lunch
and a spirit for adventure. You have from 8AM until Sundown to
complete this journey. Sorry about you "night cachers", no night
caching here... but come anyway.
Second, after spending a moment or two with these "friends," you
will now know what kind of adventure you are on.
Don't get stumped at N 25*40.155 W 80.17.065
Next, let's get Historical shall we? Anyone know anything about
this place at N 25*40.181 W 80*17.066? Let's hear your story. If
it's a good one, I'll share it with all who travel here or want to
know more about this place.
Ah, I believe a picture or a curious look will do right here at
N 25*40.205 W 80*17.081 "Is that a Tar... why, yes it is!"
You can name this giant. Just email me your suggestion. N
25*40.216 W 80*17.090 You may be the one that gives this thing some
Identity. Guess how old this is? It's mearly a young adult. "No,
it's not an animal you are looking for or at."
Ready for a view? N 25*40.195 W 80*17.186 Better count your
steps. Some elevation will put you right on the mark. Should get a
great GPS reading from here.
Did you know the Mosai make BEER out of this thing? "You sure
have big...." N 25*40.177 W 80*17.176
Enough of this, you want the treasure, right?
Ok, remember your 3rd stop? Well, if you a)take the "date"
listed at this location, b) REVERSE it and c)move the last digit to
the second. d)Move the second digit to the third. e)Move the 3rd
digit to the last and subtract 1 from it. f)Add that 1 to the first
digit. Then you will be able to plug that into these coordinates W
80*1-.---; Oh and for N 25*40.1-- g)add the amount of steps you
were suppose to count to 71 and fill in these blanks to find the
Devil's Ladder, a name that I have given to this particular spot on
location. It is not an official name and, in fact, this it barely
noticable if you are not observant because of all the other
beautiful things that people look at that in this area.
UPDATE: If you are seeking the cache after 9/24/07, then
you need to do one more thing - subtract .004 from the north and
add .006 to the west and remember that the Devil's Ladder is gone.
Instead, you will find the cache near a tree surrounded by
philodendren
Make sure to spread the word that you are Geocaching to see
peoples blank expressions. ENJOY.
