Geocache Description:

ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?

Up here in these parts you really should be afraid in the dark. In fact that is why we are having this event. After all there is strength in numbers.

This event is for those that have never night cached before and are just not sure what to expect while doing it. You will learn about having the proper equipment, what to expect while seeking a night cache and how to keep from getting lost in the dark. After the event you can have your pick of 6 night caches in this area to put the skills you  have learned into action.

WHAT: A geocaching event to learn about night caching and to discuss anything else geocaching.
WHEN: Sunday May 24 from 8:30PM - 9:30PM (8:30 to 9 gather and chat, 9-9:15 presentation).
WHERE: At the posted coordinates. This is just off of the main road. Please pull off along the edge. The locals fly through here so watch the young ones as it will be getting dusk or even dark making it harder to see them.
WHY: Because you might be afraid of the dark.
WHO: I know this is primarily for those that have never night cached before but it is open to everyone.

If you are planning on night caching or not, please remember to BRING A FLASHLIGHT or headlamp. You will need it to get back to the car after the event at least.

MORE ABOUT THE NIGHT CACHES IN THE AREA:
This is a night cachers haven. of the 6 night caches there are 4 that are way better than your average or normal night cache. If you have never done a night cache you are in for a real treat. 2 of these are WVTim caches and you know how good his caches are. But lots of people like my GEO-ART @ Night and Scothy1976's LEGEND OF SLEEPY Creek Hollow better than Tim's. In fact you will never see a night cache anywhere light GEO-ART @ Night it is a one of a kind.

ADDITIONAL DIRECTIONS: You should be traveling up during the day light but when leaving consider these directions if your are headed back toward the I81 corridor. Your GPS will get you there but at night when you leave these directions  are much safer especially for those that don't know the area.
  1. Head northeast on Hampshire Grade Rd toward Forest Rd 826
  2. Continue onto Boyds Gap Rd/Tuscarora Pike
  3. Continue straight onto Buck Hill Rd
  4. Continue onto WV-51 E
  5. This will take you right to the I81 exit 5 at Inwood, WV.
  6. Basically you follow the main road out without any turns.
Remember either way you come or go you will be on some curvy back roads so take your time. Most of all please make sure you have at least a half a tank of gas before making the trip. The closest gas is miles away...
