This cache is located on the Quinnesec United Methodist Church (QUMC) five-acre property (with permission). The area contains some thorny brush, but you probably can get through scratch free if careful. I wasn't when I scouted the site~Ouch!

Quinnesec is a Native American name meaning "Smoking Waters." QUMC was organized in February of 1880. The church building is the oldest in Dickinson and Iron Counties and was moved to its current location in 1976. It was registered with the Michigan State Register of Historic Sites in 1977. Originally located on US2, the congregation had to park on the other side of the highway and walk across for worship. The location became dangerous when the highway was expanded to 5 lanes and the speed limit changed to 55 mph.

You can read a more detailed church history and additional information on the town of Quinnesec in a program used for the 120 Year Celebration held on September 3, 2000 (Please leave the program for future cachers).

Cache is an plastic container and originally contained the church history, church postcard, "finders" flowers, marshmallow (not real) hula figure, tissue travel packs, sticky sortable cards, a flag, some novelty key chains and pens, logbook and pencil, and a FTF item.

Be sure to visit the outdoor chapel, located at N 45° 47.990 W 087° 59.785.
