Geocache Description:

St. George Temple Quarry. This quarry is located on the south west side of the black hill by the old airport. The rock from this quarry was used to build the foundation and basement walls of the St. George Temple. Originally the trail to the quarry was 10 - 15 feet wide and could handle the wagon teams used to carry the rock to the valley floor. [The original owner of this cache, (Daryl) stated that one of his ancestors were one of the pioneers that worked in the quarry.]

The trail head is located at the park at the top of the old airport road. As your coming up the hill. Take a right at the top and then a left to the park (N37 06.164 W113 35.750) The distance from the trail head to the cache is about 1.25 miles. The trail is maintained well and is a nice walk or a quick mountain bike ride. Bring water on this one. It's only a few miles round trip, but it can get really hot hiking around all the black rocks. Especially in the summer
