October 5, 2009 by Scook (2641 found) We're spending a few nights at the Mountain Creek Lodge, so I decided to do this cache. It was a great late afternoon walk to the cache. When got to the closest spot, I was still 150 feet from ground zero.I walk towards that direction, away from the river, not towards it. I searched for a while in that spot and then walked where the clue indicated.Since at the river's edge, I was 250 feet from the cache location I searched for over 100 foot both upstream and downstream. I never found any sign of a cache. The last few finders must have incredible caching skills to locate a cache where the coordinates are that far off....The hike along the Bluestone was still the trip, as is the vew from the lodge.

September 18, 2009 by DrMemory (249 found) Wow! What a great cache! We've spent many hours in Pipestem, but never made it to this part of this trail. Some great sight seeing, and lots of wildlife. Deer posed for us! Took the tram down, and walked the trail to stay dry. We were amazed the Garmin 76CSx took us right to within 20 ft of it. It lost coverage a couple times on the trail but was right on when we got there. Re-hid just as we found it. Cache in good shape. T WV Lottery coin L two TBs SL TFTC!!!BTW, the tram price has gone up... $5/adult [This entry was edited by DrMemory on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 7:22:45 AM.]

August 1, 2009 by jen4dar (357 found) Found it on our wedding anniversary while camping out over night at the campground. We have wanted to find this one for some time now since it is only 10 miles from our home coordinates in Cool Ridge. We took the tram which made it easier since we had to carry our 11 month old daughter to the cache. She was asleep when we arrived at ground zero. We have been on this great trail before but not on this part. We found the cache without difficulty. It was dry, intact and full of stuff. We left some pirates gold that we bought in Key West this summer and a wooden coin. Took a cent pin and signed the log. Rehid the cache as found. Thanks for bringing us to this part of the trail. Happy caching.TFTC jen4dar Cool Ridge WV

July 22, 2009 by cpwatkins1 (1 found) This was our first one, but it was worth the adventure. We hiked in but it was getting late in the day and took the tram out which made for a good trip. If you hike either way, remember that the river crossing can be 18" deep or more depending on the circumstances and recent weather.
