Geocache Description:

Rated 2 because it is a multi-cache. Clues 1 & 2 are at the High Steel Bridge. The physical cache is alongside Road 23.

It is rumored that the theft of his cache enraged our generally slothful troll*. Reliable sources report that this bandit has left a trail of clues at the High Steel Bridge, but that the dull-witted troll remains stymied.

Clue #1: at N 47° 22.033’ W 123° 16.859’:
A = the number of bulleted (not bullet-shot) “prohibited acts” on the sign. (Note: The sign appears to have been removed over the 4th of July, so imagine what 6 things you could think of that the Forest Rangers would want to prohibit.)

Clue #2: at N 47 22.134’ W123 16.745’
B = the number of gold & black striped signs at the north end of the bridge (The Forest Service reports that they have replaced the missing sign, so this clue has reverted to the original information.)

Hints:
___ A
___ B
___ C = B – 2
___ D = B – 1
___ E = A divided by B
___ F = A – 1
___ G = A + B
___ H = F + 2B

Final Cache: N47° 20.EDG’; (N 47° 20.__ __ __’);
W123° 17.CHF’;(W 123° 17.__ __ __’)

*A troll---revolting, mean, greedy, and quite afraid of heights---still reportedly dwells as far away from the abyss as he can squeeze and still live under the bridge, as a troll must. This local secret-place (and home to a troll?) is 10.5 miles off of US 101. A paved-over railroad trestle, the High Steel Bridge is 600 feet above sea level with most of that rise visible from mid-span. (See photo.)

Turn west at the Sam Adams Fish Hatchery N 47° 18.063, W 123° 10.882, onto the Skokomish River Road.
5.7 miles past farms, turn right at N 47° 19.383, W 123° 16.352 onto Forest Service Road #23.
After 2.4 miles through logging country, turn right at 47° 20.289, W 123° 18.138’ onto Forest Service Road #2340. Road crews have leveled most of the potholes, but look out for logging trucks, especially during the week.

Wrapped in a black bag, the clear plastic jar with a 4-inch opening originally contained:
A slinky; knife/fork/spoon set; red, yellow, green, blue, white, & black electrical tapes; brass lock and key; an M&M paperweight; a buffalo greeting card; fishing bait worms; shock cord; rope dog bone; separating key chain; stuffed animal; log book & pen. (See photo.)
