It's a magnetic mint tin on the backside, 2 steps off trail.

While hiking this trail you'll occasionally pass pieces of abandoned wreckage. The function of some if it, (gates, fences) is obvious. You'll probably deduce the purpose of the item at GZ. But in future decades it will decay and hikers less familiar with 20th century technology will probably be mystified.

We must be a couple of Goober's as we looked and looked. I have a feeling it's a good thing it wasn't a rattlesnake or we really wouldn't be happy. Maybe next time. Thanks for getting us here :)

I came back after reading over others' logs, and there it was in the first place I looked.

Out hiking on an already hot morning, on this fine summer 's day. This is a very nice canyon and is recovering nicely from the recent fires. I work nearby and walk here often. TFTC
