Seneca State Forest is one of our favorite places with so much to
do(camping, hiking, biking, canoeing).
There are two ways to get to this spot - the easiest is to park
at the lake and hike along the lake on the Thorny Creek Trail. This
trail will lead you to the Fire Tower trail where you will travel
up the hill. The difficulty is 2 due to a few steep spots however
the trail is well marked. The other way is to drive out Cabin road,
past the lake, up to the Fire Tower. You can pick the trail head
just to the left side of the tower as you walk up from the road.
This trail is steep so the hike back will be a good cardio workout.
If you choose this way, (after finding the cache), we strongly urge
you to drive down to the Greenbrier River and check out the
Greenbrier River trail on the other side.
We have placed a camera in the cache so please take a picture of
yourself and when the camera is full, we will develop and place
copies with the log.
The original cache contents are:
- 4N1 whistle, compass, thermometer & magnifying glass
- Pocket knife and tool combo
- Flower seed packages
- American Flag
- Caribiners
- Glowsticks
- Coleman Waterproof matches

PS: We hope this is an easy cache and a good one for
first-timers to get them hooked on geocaching!! We picked this spot
as one of our crew strayed from our group while looking for WV
Treasure Trove cache and this was the spot where we found her so
this must be a good spot to find things - we would never embarrass
her by telling which one went off by herself (would we LINDA
G).
