Geocache Description:

This is you chance to dust off your iron horse and take it for a 25 mile bike ride down the west side of the Iron Horse rail trail (it’s also known as the John Wayne Pioneer Trail).

When: Saturday May 29, 2004 8:30AM

We’ll start at the summit of Snoqualmie pass and end up in North Bend. Along the way we will stop to hunt 12 caches that will include: three new caches, one really old one, and one really big one, and a short multi at the end.

At the beginning we will ride, or walk, through a 2-mile long tunnel (oooh scary). Make sure to bring flashlights and coats; it will be cold and dark even on a sunny day. After that the ride is downhill on a gravel trail at a 2 percent grade. That’s just enough to make peddling an easy affair. Bring the whole family along!

We’ll meet up at the Hyak parking area around 8:30AM and leave promptly at 9AM. Lunch is at the North Bend McDonnalds 1:00PM give or take.

Driving directions:>
Take I-90 to exit #54
Turn south at the exit
Turn east (left) on Hwy-906, drive ½ mile.
Turn right on Lake Keechelus boat launch road
Turn right on the next road approx. 200 ft.
Parking coordinates N47 23.523 W121 23.564

You can either leave your car at the summit and get a ride back up at the end or leave a car in North Bend and get dropped off at the summit at the start. Feel free to post notes here to make your arrangements.
