If you have ever taken RTE 4 between Farmington and Rangeley you
have gone past this pond many times. I have fished here several
times with only a limited amount of success. You can usually catch
some small brook trout shortly after the stocking truck leaves.
According to IFW this is a 10 acre pond with a maximum depth of
8 feet. It was stocked in 2009 with 150-9” brook trout on
each of these dates; 5/1/09, 5/14/09, and 6/1/2009. There is a
small hand carry boat launch on the pond which abuts to RTE 4. This
is space for 1-2 cars to pull off the road to fish or look for the
cache if you want.
Cache is a small dry case with log and pencil only. No FTF prize
in this one. The view is the prize. This cache is available only
from dawn to dusk.
