“WISCONSIN SPIRIT
QUEST”
The Wisconsin Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
or other historic sites. In four years, the quest has grown to over
six hundred caches hidden in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Ontario and
Wisconsin and the hiders have grown to over thirty cacher teams.
Over 1,000 cacher accounts had logged over
25,000 finds when we quit counting.
This cache is dedicated to my dad!
He originally grew up in South Dakota. Having never finished the
sixth grade due to having to work on farms to help support the
family my father was illiterate and could not read. This however
did not stop him from meeting my mom, moving to Milwaukee, getting
jobs as needed and doing them well to not only have but to also
raise us kids, we always came first. In his spare time he learned
many other skilled trades through friends of his and passing these
skills on to us kids, for being illiterate he was smarter than most
would think with a remarkable work ethic. He taught us everything
and he could make tools and machinery sing. He was only known by
one name in his home town and therefore I included it in the title
"POPEYE". He now resides here for eternity in the cemetery along
with my mom.
The cache container is a camouflaged container about the size of
a regular soup can which contains log, pencil, mini screwdrivers
and cordless screwdriver bits as this is a tool themed cache.
Another cache will be hidden on a later date which will be
dedicated to my mother.
Take a moment to enjoy the beauty of this cemetery while you are
visiting, I have many other friends and relatives whom either
reside here currently or will reside here some day.
Permission for the placement of this cache was given by the
Porter family whom own the cemetery. Congrats One Way Jodi on the
FTF! your efforts paid off, watch for the next one once I have it
ready
