Spring houses were built in the days before refrigerators. They were small buildings erected over springs so that perishables could be kept cool in warm weather. This cache is located at one such old spring house on the Grange Fairgrounds in Wrightstown. I don’t know the history of this spring house but it seems that it has had occasional maintenance.
There is a gravel road (Goat Path Drive) running behind the spring house with a small parking area. You can access it from the west Grange Fairground entrance on Penns Park Road.
DO NOT ENTER THE SPRING HOUSE! There is no need to as the cache isn’t in there. Plus, you could fall and break your noodle as the first step is a doozy! Also, don’t pry any stones from the walls - it’s not necessary.
Please replace exactly as found. The cache contains a log, pencil and has room for small items.
