On a previous Caching hike in 2003, I came upon a pair of
sunglasses laying along the trail. This gave me the idea that a
cache full of sunglasses would be great for those who lose theirs
along the way. Given the cost of sunglasses these days, I had no
choice but to make these cheap sunglasses, all costing less than
$5.00 a pair, thus the name of the cache.
Next came where to hide this. Well there was only one place I
could think of. A peak themed right along with the cache, and it is
almost in our backyards. Sunset Peak!
It is my personal belief that this is one of the easiest hikes
along the Wasatch that gives you the greatest 360 degree views
there is. It is very worth it to continue to the peak after finding
the cache.
Due to the volume of hikers this area gets, I decided to hide
the cache just west of the peak, in an area often passed on by.
Caution! Do Not Take Small Childeren.
Although most kids could handle the hike, the cache is very near
cliffs!
