Waypoint #1: N47° 39.687, W122°
20.077
You are standing in the historic center and main business district
of Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood. The first information that
you need is a four-digit number written in the mosaic pavement
outside the building here. Record these as ABCD.
Waypoint #2: N47° 39.687, W122° 20.164
From this spot you can see a large, eleven letter word on top of a
building. Until the 1990s, this sign spelled out “FOODGIANT”. When
the new occupant of the building moved in, some letters from the
old sign were recycled into the new one to spell the word now seen.
Compare the word from the old sign with the current one to get your
next answers:
E = Number of large letters that could be recycled from the
old sign onto the new one.
F = Number of new letters that were still needed to complete
the current word.
Note: For these questions, assume that all letters that
could be used in the new sign were used (any researched answers may
differ, and your solution might be wrong).
Two additional equations will lead you to the final cache:
G = E - A
H = B - (D x 2)
Final Cache: N47° 39.6EH, W122° 20.1GF
The final cache is located nearby. It's an easy hike, but be
careful and watch out for wild animals. The container itself is
"hidden" in plain sight. Keep your feet on paved ground, make sure
nobody is watching, and grab the box. Most of all, have fun and
enjoy your visit to Wallingford.
Remember: This is an urban cache, so stealth is very,
very important.
One more thing: The cache isn't waterproof, so only trade
things that like getting wet.
