If you are heading to Stansted why not get there early and enjoy
this lovely area.
This cache is part of a growing international series of "Bug
Hotels" which allow air travellers to drop off or pick up Travel
Bugs, and also for UK cachers to drop off Travel Bugs leaving the
country. We also chose a location though, which we think, would be
great to visit at anytime.
The cache is on
Hatfield Forest which is a SSSI and a National Nature reserve a
short drive (or long Walk) from the airport. The Forest is owned
and managed by the National trust and there is a charge of £4 for
parking in the Forest (though you can walk in for Nothing).
We recommend Parking at N51 51.298 E000 14.033 (£3 charge to
park) and taking a stroll through to the cache past the Café and
the Lake.
The cache is a large green ammo box. There is only a logbook and
pencil plus a Travel bug to get things started. There is space for
several large bugs.
Please record the name and objective of any Travel Bugs that you
leave here, both in the bag with the bug and in the logbook. Please
try to update this site and the travel bug site as quickly as
possible to avoid other disappointed visitors - there won't be
anything other than travel bugs here!
Remember that security is your responsibility - assure yourself of
the safety of any particular item before carrying it.

Please be carefull if parking on the road or in the carpark
nearest the road on quite days. A cacher had his car broken into
whilst parked there - though it looks like it was kids doing it.
Make sure you keep valuables out of site.
Please check out the
G.A.G.B and
G:UK web
sites. They offer support for all Geocachers in the
UK.
