This is a real hike. Very old foot trail, to skid trails later. May need coordinates to parking area. Cache is small, small trade items.
I found this looking for a 1904 benchmark (NZ1272) thought it would make a nice cache.
Great view of Grants Pass and Rogue River, take a camera.
The parking area is at 42*22.910 // 123*14.923 off the end of road #37 5 12, this places you about .33 of a mile from the cache.
I drove through with my Subaru ok, it a little rough the frist 200 yards because of a hole or two and mud, than a good road after that.
The foot trail is off the end of the parking area. Its an very old trail, with little up-keep in the pass 20 years or more.
Than at about .2 of a mile from the cache it turns in to skid road trail, I lost the trail?
The cache is a peanut butter jar with wide mouth lid.
A log sheet and key chain.
It took me about 1 hour in and 1/2 hour out.
Up dated on 8/4/07
I forgot how hard a hike this was.
Replace the cache container and added some pictures to help in the finding.
