Geocache Description:

This, the Purple cache requires you to have found the Blue and Red caches first. The coordinates given are for my chosen parking place, not the actual cache. You need to substitute the values given in the primary colour caches for the equivalent letters to locate the cache –

N55° 24.(Pa)(Pb)(Pc)’ W4° 41.(Pd)(Pe)(Pf)’

In Blue you will find Pa, Pc and Pe
In Red you will find Pb, Pd and Pf

The location is in the Carrick Hills south of Ayr. I happened across this fantastic viewpoint whilst driving over the hills between caches. There is parking space for a couple of cars. The site is in between cattle girds so there are lots of beasts around, drive carefully. The actual cache is only 200 – 250 m from the cairn. The ground is wet under foot but you should be able to find an easy route across. The gnarled bent over trees are amazing and are a testament to how harsh the weather is on top of this hill.

The site has nothing to do with the colour purple. It was hard trying to find any sensible place, even with a tenuous colour link. There are violet and indigo bus routes in Glasgow and there’s the purple car park at Hampden Park but who wants to go there!?!

I have attempted to gather things together of the same colour (harder than it sounds!) for this cache so please try and colour-match your swaps!

Remember to note the equivalent letters and numbers in this secondary cache to enable you to find the white and black caches.

Please please wedge the box back in securely.
