This cache can be combined with my Weaving through Barnton
cache.
I'll leave it to yourselves to find your way to the cache. But the
easiest route will take you past The Salterford locks.
Only the larger ship lock is in use, out of the two, also on the
original lock, now a sluice, can be seen a plaque showing the
highest river level recorded in feb 1946. All the lockside cottages
are private dwellings and the lock keeper has his own little hut in
which to brew up on days when there is no river traffic.
