Geocache Description:

cache is in a metal container. Please bring a telescope or binoculars to see the rock. Also bring the photos that we uploaded to the cache page. Bring them all with you. You may want to dispute the BigDogs find. If you do dispute the Big Dogs find, be prepared for rebuttle. we won't challenge a simple no. Please vote and let us know if you think we found it. Yes or no.

In Walker Tompkins Book, " Stagecoach Days in Santa Barbara County " He says that he could not find George Washington rock. The stagecoach drivers named this rock because it looked like George Washington. He also had a photo of George Washington rock in his book. Not his own photo, but a photo. I am happy to report that the GeoBigDogs and friends have discovered George Washington Rock. They are not of the same angle. We have made available to you four photos of GWR. One is from Walker Tompkins Book. If any of you trail cachers want to get down close, you can either walk down 154 and then hack your way down , or check the gate , there are no "no tresspassing signs" and the rock is on Baptist camp land. The cartakers at the camp will welcome you to hike their trails. They are trying to make a trail to GWR. Email GeoBigDogs and I will give you the combo to the gate. We must remember the angle that the shot was taken and from where. There is not much info on the photo. If you have a photoshop program, check it with the skyline or anything else you can think of. Remember, every angle gives off a very different view. So far the GeoBigDogs have not been able to get to the exact spot where the picture was taken in the 1880's. If some of you trail hakers can get to this black rock and take a photo from below the rock or at the exact spot, that would be great. Please upload the image to this cache site. thanks GeoBigDogs
