El segundo cache en el Parque Metropolitano en el norte de Quito, Ecuador
From the park parking (S 00.11.015 W078.27.856) you walk about half a mile on easy terrain with trails. This cache is in the ferns near the big water tank. See the photo.
Desde el estacionamiento del parque (vease las cordinadas arriba) tiene que caminar media milla sobre sendas faciles. El cache esta escondido debajo de la barranca cerca al tanque de agua.
Metropolitan Park has a number of relatively new geocaches. For cachers looking to hit a large quantity of caches quickly, you might wish to consider proceeding through the caches in the south of the park in the following order. If you do this, you can start at the main entrance to the park and work your way to the south and then back to the north along the ridgeline. You will end up making a counter clockwise loop. The park is full of ravines (gullies) which run from the east to the west making it difficult to track directly to the next cache. If you follow the sequence recommended below you will be able to navigate swiftly through the ravines and to the next cache:
1. Karen’s Caper (near the entrance)
2. Cobblestone Corner
3. Quito Geo-Post Office
4. Huicu Crossing (along the path you will need to cross the ravine)
5. Three Stumps
6. Metro Park SE
7. Metropolitan Park
8. Sumajñan
9. A Long Hike
10. Reforestation (when finished and leaving for the next cache it will require that you return up the hill beside the ravine until you reach and well-used trail crossing the ravine)
11. Quebrada Overlook
