Central Jersey - East Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

nikcap: The hide was damaged by Hurricane Sandy. This is the second time a storm beat up this hide, so I guess it's time to find a new spot. I found a secure location about 300ft away.
Because the hide is significantly different and not in the same spot, I rather re-list this as a new cache.
Thank you to everyone that came out to find this cache. I hope you enjoyed your visit.
Now you have a chance to re-visit the park.
The new cache is Central Jersey East (2013) http://coord.info/GC1FD3K
You will still find the clues to the Central Jersey Cache hunt there.

Geocache Description:

Micro cache hidden in South Amboy, NJ. If you come here in the evening or on the weekend, serious stealth will be needed to find and retrieve the cache. Please replace the cache as you found it. There is no need to make it more difficult for the next finder.

I didn't place a pen or pencil in this cache, so bring your own. Sign the back of the stash note, and write down the clues to the Central Jersey Cache Hunt.

Welcome to Raritan Bay Water Front Park in South Amboy. You can smell the ocean from the country's oldest Railroad Town. South Amboy was the gateway to Manhattan for thousands of Central Jersey Travelers in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Travelers would arrive on the Camden & Amboy Railroad, or Raritan River Railroad, and take a ferry to lower Manhattan. With the introduction of electricity, coal was brought into South Amboy and electricity was generated for most of Middlesex county.

Today, ferry service has been restored and South Amboy is again becoming a gateway to NYC. The city of South Amboy is going through a bit of a renaissance, so visit the shops on Broadway and enjoy your walk along Raritan Bay.

This is the eastern stage of the Central Jersey Cache Hunt. When you find this cache, be sure to copy down the partial set of coordinates that will help you find the Central Jersey Cache Hunt. You'll need to find the other three caches on the borders of Central Jersey to find The Central Jersey Cache Hunt (GCP88G).

The other caches you'll be seeking are:

Each of these caches were placed to show off some of the odd and interesting places in Central Jersey. Also, the manner in which each cache is hidden is in some way inspired (or directly ripped off) of another Central Jersey cache. Thus, you may find this hide very easy (been there, done that), or you may find yourself pulling your hair out.

As with all Team Ekitt10 caches, there is no need to kick things over, rip up the environment, trespass, or do anything dumb or illegal. Please leave the environment intact while you search, and if possible, please CITO.

Have fun, and thanks for caching with us!
