FLORIDA has the most coastline of any of the contiguous states and the lowest highpoint of any of the states. Between the famously sunny climate, tremendous coastline, world’s largest cruise ship port, and a variety of amusement parks, it is no wonder that tourism is the largest part of the "Sunshine State’s" economy.
ALABAMA is a largely agricultural and industrial state, with a small coast along the Gulf of Mexico. Its elevation does not dip below sea level. It was the twenty-second state to be admitted to the union.

MISSISSIPPI gets its name from the largest river in North America, which serves as its western border. Mississippi was essential in the formation of many American music traditions including country, blues, jazz, gospel, and rock and roll.
LOUISIANA is the home of New Orleans, as well as Cajun and Creole cultures. It is also unique in naming its political regions parishes rather than counties. Louisiana is known for its music, particularly jazz, blues and Afro-Caribbean music.
All or some of the "Lone Star State's" territory has been a part of six nations, including nine years as the independent Republic of Texas. For this reason, the slogan "Six Flags over Texas" is often found within the state, including in the name of the popular amusement park chain "Six Flags," which was founded in Arlington, Texas. The six flags are even incorporated in the State Seal. Texas is famous for its cowboy image, a result of its large cattle industry, and for its oil deposits.
