Geocache Description:

A garden of art in the shadow of BART. Unless you live in the neighborhood, it's likely you'd never stumble upon this urban park that was transformed by one man through years of work and a unique vision. Maybe you've spotted it from the BART tracks that run above the park (visible northbound between Daly City and Balboa Park) Cache is a brief walk from easy parking.

The cache is in a small Lock and Lock plastic container. Be careful of the beautiful gardens and carvings.... no need to leave the trails to find the cache! Please replace the items hiding the cache when you're done, to prevent discovery by muggles.

Cayuga Playground is a fun place to explore with kids or walking your dog. It also has a fascinating history.

According to the GoCityKids website: "This playground in the Outer Mission was once a beaten down, overgrown, weed-choked space. In 1986, it became the pet project of former-lawyer turned gardener, Demi Braceros, whose personal challenge became "making it beautiful."

He spent the first year carting away wheelbarrows full of weeds and garbage. Then he fixed the drainage problems, terraced the hillsides, poured cement, and created paths.Now, visitors can take one of two walking paths, the Garden of Eden Trail and the New Trail of Hope. Braceros, who came to America in 1973 from the Philippines, twisted twigs into fences, archways, and benches. And then he installed his wood carvings. See how many animals your children can spot. Also hidden in this little park are [former] Mayor Willie Brown, Michael Jordan, John Lennon, and the Virgin Mary and Jesus.

Braceros's little wedge of heaven contains flowers, painted rocks, and inspirational messages. It's worth a visit if only to see what one very determined man can accomplish on his own.

Oh, and there's also a baseball diamond, tennis and basketball courts, a sand playground, and a recreation center."
