8 Zaligheden: Reusel

Reusel: een zalige mix van keien en bonte feesten.
Reusel: a Blessed mix of rocks and colourful party´s.

In het logboek van deze cache vind je een code voor de bonus cache. Klik op ´t Menneke voor:

Notes:
oktober 2009: na diverse pogingen is de opdracht bij WP 12 definitief veranderd.
4 augustus 2011. De beschrijving een grote update gegeven. De oude beschrijving is niet meer te gebruiken!! Voortaan alleen deze gebruiken.

Reusel (Natuur Historisch Perspectief)

Volgens de plaatselijke overlevering raakte in het begin van de vorige eeuw een Reuselse ambtenaar onder de indruk van de Arc de Triomphe en de Champs Elysees. Toen hij de opdracht kreeg om wegen aan te leggen in de Peelsche Heide nam hij het Parijse lijnenspel over. Burgemeester Willekens zag er wel wat in en toog samen met zijn beste boswachter naar het bos om met behulp van een stuk touw twee cirkels uit te zetten: een kleine cirkel en een grote.

De Heemkunde Werkgroep Reusel heeft deze cirkels in de loop der jaren aangekleed. Zo plaatsten zij de Januskop om de enige plek in Brabant te markeren waar het Nederlandse hemelwater naar Belgisch grondgebied vloeit. Verder vond de “Reuselse Kei” –een zwerfkei uit de oudste steenlagen van Europa - na enige omzwervingen een plaats aan de grote cirkel. Even verderop ligt het achtzaligheden monument. Een achttal keien symboliseren evenveel Kempische dorpen. U lezer bent ondertussen kenner, dus u mag raden om welke dorpjes het gaat.

Reusel (De Cache)

De Reuselnaar houdt van bonte feesten. Zo leeft hij zich wekelijks uit in de diverse cafe´s en één keer per jaar gaat hij helemaal los tijdens de Reuselse kermis.

Het bonte van de Reuselnaar vind je ook terug in de cache. Er worden namelijk verschillende GPS en Route technieken gebruikt om de Geo-cacher van punt naar punt te leiden tot de X waaronder de cache ligt.

Een bonte verzameling betekent naast een hoop lol ook een gedegen voorbereiding om de cache tot een goed einde te brengen. Daarom:
1) Zorg dat je de route technieken kent.
2) Neem een COS/SIN/TAN rekenmachine mee.
3) Neem je GPS handboek mee.
4) Neem de tijd voor deze cache, anders maak je fouten. Zoals ik ;-)
5) De laatste tip: Lees vooruit!!

Reusel (Natural, Historic Perspective)

Local legend tells of a government official who lived in the beginning of last century. He was assigned to build roads through the forest. Inspired by the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees he made a copy of the Paris design and showed it to the mayor. Mayor Willekens liked the idea and took to the Peelsche Heide with his best forester where they made a big circle and a small one using only rope.

Years later the "Heemkunde Werkgroep Reusel" dressed up the circles. They placed "de Januskop" to mark the only place in the province where Dutch rain water runs into Belgium. Furthermore they placed the “Reuselse Kei” –a stone wanderer originated in the oldest stone layers of Europe - near the Big Circle. Their latest project is the monument of eight blesses. Eight rocks symbolising eight villages. Being an expert by now, you can guess which villages.

Reusel (The Cache)

The inhabitants of Reusel like colourfull parties. The many cafe´s provide it on a weekly basis, but the fair is the biggest party around.

This cache is like the fair: containing various GPS and Route technics as the attractions who´ll lead you to one point to another to the X under which the cach is hidden. This creates a lot of fun but only if you prepare yourself:
1) Get familiar with the used technics.
2) Bring your GPS handbook.
3) Bring your SIN/COS/TAN calculator.
4) Don't rush this cache or you´ll make mistakes. I did ;-)
5) And the last tip: read the instructions up front!!

De Januskop heeft twee gezichten. Waar watert de man op uit? Tel de waarde van de letters van dit woord bij elkaar op (A = 1 enz.) Waarde = X

Je staat nu op WP 4. Wp 5 ligt X meter en Y graden verder.
X = 68 + (gewicht van de Reuselse Kei) / 4

WP 6

Vindt het bord met de 8 Bijbelse zaligheden. Elke Bijbelse zaligheid heeft een nummer. Zoek bij de Bijbelse zaligheid het juiste dorpje en je vindt het coördinaat. Het monument helpt je de code te breken.
Bijvoorbeeld: gezegend zijn de barmhartige = nr .. en Eersel = Barmhartige = nr.
Note: schrijf dit op, misschien heb je het later nog nodig.
