Master Mariner: I am archiving this cache as I no longer have time to maintain it. I will leave the cache in place until the end of the month just in case anyone has plans to find it. Any logs after 31st May 2006 will be deleted.

Geocache Description:

This is another in the Green Chain Walk caches in southeast London.

home The cache is in a smaller sized, clear plastic food container. The cache contained, at the second time of hiding, the following: Log Book, Pencil, Stash Note and a few other bits and pieces.

In summer the leaf cover may affect the GPS receiver. You may have to locate a clearing or two and work on bearings.

Designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Local Nature Reserve it contains a variety of trees including oak, birch, hornbeam and alder. In spring you can see bluebells in abundance with wood anemone and wood sorrel. Along streams and ditches are sedges, yellow pimpernel and a number of ferns. Breeding birds include the tree creeper, nuthatch, woodpecker, chiffchaff and wood warbler.

There are toilets and cafe close to this parking area.
