Introduction
Most of my puzzles have been of the type you must solve at home.
I've decided to expand a bit and have started placing puzzle caches
that you must solve outdoors, at ground zero. I've named this the
Outstanding in his Field series.
The Cache
The cache is not hidden well at all, but this should more than
make up for the puzzle and the walk. The hike is between 3.75 and
4.25 miles round-trip. You will have a total elevation change of
about 400 feet while doing this. There is almost no bushwhacking.
There is one spot where it isn't clear which trail to take. Stay on
the Club Trail 12.
The bugs were awful when I placed the cache. DEET kept them off
me but they still buzzed a lot. You'll find a beautiful river
crossing (with a bridge) about 300 feet north of the listed
coordinates. I'm sure that's why the bugs are here.
I startled a deer about 100 feet north of the bridge, so keep
your eyes open!
The Puzzle
You will find an object at the listed coordinates. Please do not
remove the object - it is not swag. Use the object to determine the
final coordinates. The listed coordinates are quite close to the
trail so please make sure the object, which is in a small lock and
lock, cannot be seen from the trail. You'll find a nearby rock you
can sit on while working on the puzzle.
Some will find the puzzle quite easy, some will find it
maddeningly difficult. Remember that there is more than one way to
skin a cat. Please don't hurl the object into the woods or smash it
with large rocks, no matter how tempting it may be to do so.
FTFP!
FTFP prize is a BackBrakeBilly
puzzle geocoin. I will transfer ownership to the first
finder.
