Geocache Description:

A nice easy one this, you probably won't even have to get out your car. This is a statue of the only local man to come back from the Battle of Flodden Field. He brought back a standard (it is not clear if it was the Scottish or English standard) To this day it is still celebrated every June as the Selkirk Common Riding. A Standard Bearer rides round the town on horse back with a standard accompanied by up to 600 riders. Its quite a sight to see.

To log this cache if you could email me with the year the statue was erected and the name of the artist on the statue?

Edit 3rd December 2007: You must visit the statue to get the answer, no virtual finds will be allowed. If I find others are making virtual finds then I may have to make your proof of visit harder!!

If you have an internet connection to log your find, then you have an internet connection to send me the required answers! Send your answers BEFORE posting your log. Failing to do this will result in the deletion of your log without notice. You DO NOT have to wait for a reply. If I have an issue with your email I will contact you about it.

Please take note: Your camera on your mobile phone is better than what you or most people may realise. Therefore when posting pictures please ensure that the answers to the questions are not visible in your picture. At the moment I am having to delete at least every second picture which gets uploaded due to answers being visible. The main excuse is that they didn't realise as they took the picture with their mobile!!
