Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Lock Park Quad series. This will take you off the main path to the side of the main tower. a bit of clambering is neccersary

Locke Park is a Grade 2 listed landscape and the largest public amenity and heritage site in Barnsley. The park is held in trust for the people of Barnsley and is a fine example of an unspoilt Victorian park in its design and layout. The Locke Park Tower stands 70 feet tall and takes its name from the Victorian Railway entrepreneur Joseph Locke. The tower itself was built in 1866 (2 years after Joseph's death) by his wife's sister.
