Na
manhã de 11 Maio de 1671, a Igreja Matriz de
Odivelas apresentava evidentes sinais de roubo, ocorrido
durante a noite anterior. Os artigos roubados foram 2 vasos
sagrados, onde estavam guardadas as hóstias, imagens do Menino
Jesus, de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, de Nossa Senhora do Egipto e
vestuário de outros Santos. Logo após o alerta, nesse mesmo dia,
foram revistadas todas as casas de Odivelas. Nos dias seguintes
estendeu-se a revista à cidade de Lisboa e tendo a mesma chegado a
quase todo o país. Não nos podemos esquecer que estávamos na época
da Inquisição e por esse facto o roubo tomou proporções tais que o
próprio Papa, Inocêncio XI, teve de intervir para impedir a
violência sobre os cristãos-novos, através da suspensão do
funcionamento dos tribunais religiosos durante 3 anos
(1678-1681).

Após um mês de intensas buscas e múltiplas inquirições, em 16 de
Junho de 1671 foi encontrado, parte do roubo, escondido num
silvado, local onde mais tarde foi construído o Padrão do
Senhor Roubado.Os suspeitos do roubo foram muitos mas o
verdadeiro autor do roubo foi apanhado por acaso, no dia 16
Outubro, quando tentava roubar galinhas no Mosteiro de S.
Dinis. Como trazia com ele alguns objectos do roubo da
Igreja de Odivelas, logo se percebeu que era este o ladrão da
Igreja. O ladrão era um pobre diabo trabalhador rural, alcoólico,
com 19 anos, chamado António Ferreira, que vivia sozinho em estado
de miséria. António Ferreira confessou o crime um dia depois da sua
prisão.
Desde o dia da prisão de António Ferreira até à sua sentença, muita
tinta correu no processo inquisitorial, sobretudo quanto à decisão
de tortura, mesmo após já haver confessado.
Muito mais grave do que o crime cometido foi a sentença
inquisitorial do réu confesso, que constou em garroteá-lo e depois
queimá-lo. A sentença foi executada no dia 23 de Novembro de
1671.
Padrão do Senhor Roubado
O Monumento do Padrão do Senhor Roubado foi construído em 1744
com a intenção de tornar aquele lugar sagrado, porque foram
ali encontrados os objectos sagrados do roubo da Igreja Matriz de
Odivelas. Actualmente o Monumento continua a ser um local de culto
por variadas razões, dependendo da fé de cada um. Tal como eu,
alguns crentes entendem aquele lugar de culto como uma homenagem a
António Ferreira, mais uma vítima das indefensáveis práticas da
Inquisição.
Esta Cache tem a intenção de dar importância a este local de culto,
no qual eu acredito. Sejam
também vocês crentes porque poderão ser
recompensados.
Toda esta história está retratada em 12 painéis de azulejos,
lindos, mas muito mal tratados, no Padrão do Senhor Roubado.

On
the morning of May 11, 1671, the Mother Church of
Odivelas gave evidence of theft, which occurred during the
previous night. The items stolen were 2 sacred vessels, which where
they were stored the hostias, images of the Infant Jesus, Nossa
Senhora do Rosário, Nossa Senhora of Egypt and clothing to other
saints. Once it gave the alert, that same day, the all houses were
searched of Odivelas. In the following days had been extended
reviewed in the City of Lisbon and arriving the almost the whole
country.

We must not forget that we were at the time
of the Inquisition and for that theft the theft took such
proportions that exactly so Pope, Innocent XI, had to intervene to
prevent violence on new Christians, by suspending the operation of
religious courts for 3 years (1678-1681).
After a month of intensive searches and multiple interrogations, on
June 16, 1671, was found, part of the theft, hidden in the thicket,
where they later built The Stone Monument of Senhor
Roubado.
The suspected of theft were many but the real author of the theft
was caught by chance, on 16 October, while trying you the steal
chickens in the Monastery of St. Dinis. As brought
with him some of the objects stolen from the Church of Odivelas,
soon became apparent that this was the thief of the Church The
thief was a poor fellow rural worker, alcoholic, with 19 years old,
called Anthony Ferreira, who lived alone in state of misery.
Anthony Ferreira confessed the crime one day to after to their
arrest.
Since
the day of the arrest of Antonio Ferreira until their sentencing,
much ink ran in the inquisitorial proceeding, especially when
deciding to torture, even to after having already confessed.
Much more serious than the crime committed was the judgement
inquisitorial the defendant confess, which consisted in strangle it
and then burn it. The sentence was executed on November 23,
1671.

The Stone Monument of Senhor
Roubado
The
Stone Monument of Senhor Roubado was constructed in 1744 with the
intention to become that sacred place, because there were sacred
objects found the theft of The Mother Church of Odivelas. In
present the monument remains a place of worship for various
reasons, depending on the faith of each one.
Like
me, some believers understand that place of worship as a tribute to
Antonio Ferreira, another victim of the indefensible practices of
the Inquisition. This Cache has the intention to give importance to
this place of cult, which I trust. If
you are believers will be rewarded.
All
this history is portraied in 12 tile beautiful panels, but very
badly treated, in The Stone Monument of Senhor Roubado.

visita aos locais emblemáticos desta história. A Cache final pode
ser encontrada no Padrão do Senhor Roubado, mas

cache compels to go the past through the visit to the emblematic

Stone Monument. The intermediate points are close to each other so
I suggest parking near the Monastery of St.
