Geocache Description:

CALLING ALL NEWBIES!!! IF SANTA BROUGHT YOU A GPSr FOR CHRISTMAS AND YOU HAVE LESS THAN 30 FINDS (+/- a few), THIS ONE IS JUST FOR YOU!!!

It seems that right around Christmas every year a new crop of cachers comes about, having just received a GPSr. If that is you, welcome to this hobby/sport/obsession/addiction we call geocaching! This cache is special made for you. ***FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF THIS CACHE'S LIFE (until 1/24/04) ONLY CACHER'S WHO HAVE LOGGED 30 FINDS OF LESS (+/- a few) WILL BE ALLOWED TO LOG FINDS ON THIS CACHE.*** After that two week period the cache is open to all to find. Come experience what a "first-to-find" feels like!

You are looking for an ammo can hidden along the banks of Nonconnah Creek in East Memphis. No real surprises here, but some terrian change and lots of thorns! Mosquitoes in season. Best parking is at the back of the Perimeter Park Office Park. ***YOU CANNOT REACH THIS CACHE FROM INTERSTATE 240, WHICH WOULD NOT BE SAFE ANYWAYS.*** Inside the cache you will find a collection of supplies and goodies we have found useful or novel as you begin what we hope will be a long, fun geocaching career! Batteries, micros ready to be hidden, notebooks, lanyards, some locks, two GOWT geocoins, and merchandise from Geocaching.com/Groundspeak.com all waiting for you.

The swag for this cache was contributed by the following local geocachers: Hoot Owl, Spensersb, Tuck Sackett, and Canadian Bear. Welcome to geocaching. See you on the trails!

Here is a list of some other items Spensersb would have liked to have added, had we had the space and wherewithall. This will all make sense later!!!
