This cache has been archived.

Team Shadow Cat: I just learned the cache was picked up by other city employees. I will not replace it and allow another cacher to have the area for a hide. Thank you for all the finds.

Geocache Description:

Locatted at the best view in the Arastradero Preserve.

Stopped by on October 20, 2005 to do some cache maintenance, found the cache in yet another exposed place and decided to move it slightly. The cache container is a nut jar about 1 quart sized, painted to blend in.

This new cache contains (old stuff from the cache, minus trash, plus some new goodies):
Log book and pencil (please don't take either; but feel free to use them)
Cache note
Mini crayons
A luggage tag
Gel pen
An incredibles kid
Non Toxic bubbles
A magnetic "o" and "g"
Orange godzilla
Pink godzilla
Purple frog
Red Lizard
Gold fish
Safety whistle
Red LED ligth
Black Spider
For the new FTF a micro cache capsule...

Park at the preserve main lot on Arastradero Road, about a half mile north of Page Mill Road, enter through gate "A", maps are available at the parking lot. This is not the nearest entrance into the preserve; but, it is the only entrance with legal parking nearby, for those who are more adventurous: walk, or mountain bike (strollers not recommended on the road - lots of speeders) along Arastradero Road to gate "B".

This park is open to most users, pedestrians, bikers and equestrians, but no motorized vehicles. Dogs are welcome on leash (the biggest threats to dogs here are: rattlesnakes, ticks and horses and occassional mountain lions).

The cache is about 1.7 miles from the parking lot, through gate "A" and maybe a quarter mile shorter through gate "B". It is accesable from established paths, please don't make any new ones. All paths in the park can be negitiated by a good stroller or kids, a wheelchair may have some difficulty.

This is another of my favorite views (and yes this spot can be considered to be my office). On a clear day buildings in San Francisco are easily visible to the north, to the south you can easily see Mt Hamiton. Stanford, Moffett Field, the Dunbarton and San Mateo bridges are all visible. Come, sit a spell, enjoy...

The area of the preserve this cache is in is subject to seasonal trail closures. Please see the city's web page at www.cityofpalalto.org/naturepreserves for trail information, closing times and parking locations.
