Op zoek naar een schrijver/dichter, die in de 19e eeuw in
Landgraaf geboren was. Hij sturdeerde rechten (o.a. in Leiden en
Parijs) en promoveerde in Amsterdam. Tot begin 20e eeuw heeft hij
gewerkt als advocaat en griffier, daarna legde hij zich helemaal
toe op het schrijven.
In het begin van zijn schrijversloopbaan schreef hij vooral
kritieken en beschouwingen, vooral over de moderne Franse
literatuur. Later schreef hij essays en proza voor een literair
tijdschrift, waar hij ook mederedacteur was. Eind 19e eeuw schreef
hij veel reisbeschrijvingen over plaatsen, die hij bezocht had.
Begin 20e eeuw begon hij ook te schrijven over Limburg, waar hij
geboren was.
Eind 20er jaren vestigde hij zich in een plaats in Zuid-Limburg,
waar hij tot zijn dood woonde.
In 1985 is een literaire prijs ingesteld, welke zijn naam draagt.

Search for a writer born in Limburg...
Search for a writer/poet which was born in the 19th century in
Landgraaf. He studied law (in places like Leiden and Paris) and
graduated in Amsterdam. Till beginning of the 20th century he work
as a lawyer, later he became a full-time writer.
In his early days as a writer he did mainly write criticisms and
examinations, mainly on modern French literature. Later he wrote
essays and prose for a literary Magazine, where he was also
co-editor. End 19th century he did write a lot of travel
descriptions about places he visited. Beginning 20th century he
started to write about Limburg, where he was born.
At the end of the twenties he settled in a place in southern
Limburg, where he lived till his death.
In 1985 is a literary price with his name was introduced.
