Geocache Description:

_________________________________________

What: CITO Meetup
When: Sunday, April 26 2015, 10:00am - Noon
Where: Falls of the Ohio State Park Interpretive Center (see coords/map)
Who: You. Me. Everyone. Geocacher or not.
What to expect: Two hour cleanup along the banks of the Ohio River.

You need only bring yourself, more volunteers, and a willingness to pick up our man-made litter. No heavy lifting is required and the state parks will provide all needed supplies. We will concentrate on the high-water mark (as defined by plastics) around the overlook and the nature trails. There will be no need to approach the water or the steep riverbanks. This is intended to be a safe endeavor.

The Interpretive Center is closed for renovation so use the restroom facilities at Ashland Park (near parking for the Fossil Bed geo-Hike.

To every participant who signs up at the event: - Park staff has offered to mail each participant a one-use entry pass to the Interpretive Center which re-opens in September 2015! You do NOT need to be a member of Geocaching.com to enjoy this benefit! You must be present to attend and sign the participation form. Bring the entire family and 'Pitch-In'!

Be part of the Plastic Posse!

Every plastic bottle can outlive 10 generations of your family. Americans used about 50 billion plastic water bottles last year. However, the U.S.'s recycling rate for plastic is only 23 percent, which means those 38 billion water bottles will be around for your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandchildren to play with. Not to mention the other 1,250,000,000,000 bottles made in the meantime.
