Kameido Katori Shinto shrine

It is said that Kameido had been called Kamejima or [kametsushima] on a small island where turtle's shape was had in the old times.
It prayed for the Katori wolf in this island, and when [kamasoku] (665) Fujiwara fell in the eastern country for four years the [tensatoru] emperor, [**ko] [shi] and the sword sweep were dedicated and it prayed for the safety of travel according to [shatsuta]. It is said that this is an origin of the Kameido Katori Shinto shrine.

When warring [uketamawahiraten;yoroko] [no], the village of [**] Fujiwara where it faced the subjugation of the [hirashou] gate is ..departure.. . in our company for the winning the first game prayer. for the confinement in a shrine for pThe bow and arrow was dedicated as [tatematsusai] after the war was repressed and it was named [kaya]. ..doing.. [wareru] [kayamatsuri] May 5 is connected to this tradition.
It is connected to [kamitoku] of the Katori wolf revered as a god of such a history and martial arts, and the reverences are being collected widely as a god of the sports promotion now.
It is [retsukaku] in (1872) Murakoso in 1872. The building of a Shinto shrine is burnt down in the (1945) air raid in 1945, and (1948) is rebuilt for 23 years. A present building of a Shinto shrine was completed to (1988) for 63 years.
Moreover, the portable shrine is unusual of the roof, copper, and the plinth's doing separate movement when shouldering it, and it is commonly called, "Paste made from the arum root portable shrine". They are only two Kyushu and here valuable one also in the whole country.

There must be a well, too and the turtle of the origin of the name of Kameido must see once in precincts.

亀戸香取神社

その昔、亀戸は亀の形をした小さな島で、亀島とか亀津島と呼ばれていたといわれています。
社伝によれば、天智天皇4年(665)藤原鎌足が東国へ降った際、この島に香取大神を勧請し、太刀一振りを奉納して旅の安全を祈願しました。これが亀戸香取神社の起源であるといわれています。

承平天慶の乱に際し、平将門の追討に向かった藤原秀郷は先勝祈願のために当社に参籠しました。乱の鎮定後、奉賽として弓矢を奉納し勝矢と命名しました。5月5日に行われる勝矢祭は、この故事に因むものです。
このような由緒や武道の神として崇敬された香取大神の神徳に因み、現在ではスポーツ振興の神として広く崇敬を集めています。
明治5年(1872)村社に列格。昭和20年(1945)空襲で社殿が焼失し、同23年(1948)再建。現在の社殿は同63年(1988)に落成したものです。
また、神輿は担ぐと屋根と銅と台座が別々の動きをするという珍しいもので、俗に「こんにゃく神輿」と呼ばれています。全国でも九州とここの2基しかない貴重なものです。

境内には亀戸の名の由来の亀が井戸もありますので、一度ご覧になってみて下さい。
