Geocache Description:

Let's race those ducks again!!

This will be the 2nd Durham Ducks Day Out Event !!!

The event will be held at

Allensford Park, Consett,
on Saturday 1st September,
from 1pm - 5pm (having our picnic about 3pm)

The park has a river, lots of open grassed space, a childrens play area, a small shop and toilets......newbies, oldbies, kids and dogs are all welcome.

We will be having a DUCK RACE!!!
putting the ducks in the water at the park and letting them float about half a mile down the river, before some willing VOLUNTEERS fish them all out.

It will be £1.00 per duck to enter the race, the profits from the race will be going to...........read the logs below!!

I hope to sell 220 ducks.

The ducks will be numbered 1-220 on their bums, and will be sold on a first come first served basis.

If you would like to buy a duck or two please let me know on your attendance log, if you would like to take part in the race but cannot make the event let me know and I can sort something out with you.

If all the ducks sell we will raise £200.00 for our usual charity and the remaining £20.00 will be the prize for the winning duck.

As usual we will do a shared picnic.
If each team could bring some thing savoury and something sweet to put on the table for all to share we would appreciate it.

If you have any special dietary needs please feel free to bring along your own picnic.

Please remember to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

The idea of this event is to just chill out and have a chat and something to eat and drink, and maybe swap a few geocaching tales and TBs, and of course join in with the duck race.

Remember to let me know in your attendance log how many ducks you would like.
I have a Just Giving page up and running, if possible please pay for your ducks through, that it just saves me carrying lots of money at the event.

As usual I am on the scrounges..
I need willing VOLUNTEERS to go into the water, to start the duck race and to collect the ducks at the end of the race.
If anyone has any folding tables I could borrow to put food ect on I would appreciate it.
Also I need Tombola prizes.

There are 220 ducks left!!
