Considering the season, this will be a fine opportunity to celebrate Christmas/Hanukkah/Yule/Solstice/Kwanzaa/the holiday of your choice. It's potluck, so bring your favorite dish, and the hall allows alcohol, so bring the holiday cheer of your choice. Kitchen facilities are available, if you need a last minute warm up or assembalage of your dish. If you'll need a microwave, please mention so in your RSVP log below.
For part of the evening's entertainment, those interested can join in playing a gift game we've found is enjoyed by many. Bring a half dozen to a dozen small gifts (ones appropriate as cache trade items would be perfect), wrapped as beautifully as you like. All of the gifts are placed in the center of the circle of players, who take turns rolling
dice. Depending on the results, the player will take zero, one, or two from the pile. When all have been taken, but not yet unwrapped, the real fun begins; for a set (but secret) amount of time, the players continue to roll and continue to select presents, but this time they take them from each other. When the timer goes off, the players all unwrap the gifts, for the first time everyone can see just what they
have been stealing back and forth from one another.
Anyone who wishes can come a little early and help decorate, or bring music or other appropriate distractions. The time is still under debate on MOOG, and will be annouced here when decided on.
In keeping with Spike event traditions around the world (or at least the pacific northwest), Sophie, the MOOG Event Spike will be passed on to another MOOGer, who will be responsible for organizing the next MOOG Spike Event. The exact method by which Sophie will be passed on THIS time, is a tightly kept secret, to be revealed by yumitori only at the event itself. Come witness the spectacle, if you dare.
If you plan to attend, please post a note to this page with how many people you are bringing, and maybe a tantalizing hint of what dish you're bringing. It is not necessary that you be a member of MOOG to attend (but why aren't you a member?)
