Kyrkan invigdes 1966 och är ritad av arkitekterna Bror Thornberg och Torsten Roos från Malmö under mottot: Vår Gud är oss en väldig borg. Kyrkan är byggd i betong.

Utsmyckningen av Högsbo kyrka - en fris som löper längs innerväggen - utfördes under åren 1963-70 och består av arton kompositioner. Dessa skildrar Jesu liv från bebådelsen till himmelsfärden. Frisen, som är 80 cm hög och 70 m. lång, är utförd i smaltmosaik - ett material från Venedig. Den löper runt tre av kyrkans väggar.

Korväggen har en bild av den Kristus i hugget färgat glas, mot bakgrund av ett kors belyst bakifrån. Krucifixet, ca 4 m. högt, är placerat ovan altaret och utfört i arkitekturglas och plåt. De fem mindre fönstren på norra väggen, också de i arkitekturglas, symboliserar de tre stora högtiderna, julen, påsken och pingsten. Emellan dessa fönster finns också två så kallade strålfönster.

Mosaikfrisen, Kristusbilden och fem färgfönster är alla utförda av konstnären Knut Irwe, då lärare vid Konstindustriskolan i Göteborg. Knut Irwe utförde arbetet med frisen under sju år och har med egen hand lagt in ca en halv miljon mosaikbitar.

Denna kyrka har ingen kyrkogård och är inte placerad i någon kyrkomur. Ta med dig en egen penna. Behållaren är av typen "sten". Tidigare hette denna geocache "KV #6 - Högsbo kyrka".
The church was inaugurated in 1966 and is designed by the architects Bror Thornberg and Torsten Roos from Malmö with the motto: Our God is for us a giant fortress. The church is built in concrete.

The decoration of Högsbo church - a frieze that runs along the inner wall - was done during the years 1963-70 and consists of 18 compositions. They depict Jesus life from annunciation to the ascension. The frieze is 80 cm high and 70 meters long is done in smelt mosaic - a material from Venice. It runs along three of the church walls.

The cross wall has a picture of the Christ cut in coloured stone, and a cross in the background backlit. The crucifix, about 4 meter high is placed above the altar and done in architectural glass and plate. The five smaller windows on the windows on the northern wall, are also in architectural glass, symbolizes the three large feasts, Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. Between those windows there are also so called steel windows.

The mosaic frieze, the picture of Christ and five colour windows are made by the artist Knut Irwe, when he was a teacher at the Konstindustriskolan in Gothenburg. Knut Irwe worked with the frieze during seven years and have by hand put in about half a million mosaic pieces.

This church has no cemetery and not placed in any church wall. Bring your own pen. The container is of type "stone". This geocache was previously namned "KV #6 - Högsbo kyrka".
