Let's clean up this great open space park!

Calling all cachers:
While most of the Ottawa County Parks are very clean, this open space land they manage is an old farm. That said, like many old farms their are areas that were old farm dumps. A C.I.T.O. here is sure to make a heck of a dent in the problem!

Please either set a watch to this cache page, or check back from time to time for updates. We're trying to get one of the large dumpsters out here, and we're going to try and FILL IT! Just like the old C.I.T.O. days! So come on out, and lend a hand for a bit.

Park Clean Up:
Trash bags
If everyone could bring a few trash bags it would help to pick up some of the smaller/lighter items.
Gloves
It would be wise to bring gloves if you have them. Some of the items we'll be removing are old and rusty. Even simple garden gloves will help protect your hands if you find some nasty stuff.
After Party:
Food
The Chapter will be providing the basics for the afterparty. We'll have some hot dogs to roast, and the fixens for them. We'll also have a couple of large coolers for water and lemonaid. If you prefer something grilled other than hot dogs feel free to use the charcoal we've got going for your favorite item.

Side Dish
If you would like to bring a side dish to pass I'm sure that everyone would appreciate it.

Chairs
On another note, you might want to bring a lawn/folding chair along with you. Their is some seating where we'll be meeting, but you might want to stretch out some too while visiting with all our caching friends.

Because of a paperwork glitch we will not be able to have a 50/50 raffle this year. We're looking into the possibility of having one in the future, but the chapter will replace the 50/50 raffle with a game of skill as a fun way to help off set some of the event costs that aren't being donated.

It looks like the chapter will have enough money to buy hot dogs and the fixins for them for everyone. If you'd like to bring a dish to pass to add to the after feast that would be great.

If you've had a chance to look at the pictures in the gallery, you'll notice that there is a lot of metal and nasty stuff to be cleaned up. It would be wise if everyone could bring some gloves to wear to help protect your hands. As always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to get in touch with the chapter. Because of generous donations from local companies we will be able to have an after party.
Costco, Family Fare and Meijer have generously agreed to donate some food to feed you hungry volunteers.

Because Timmer Farm is an "Open Spaces Land" and not a traditional park, we will be holding the after party at Hagar Park, which is 2.5 miles SE of Timmer Farm (additional waypoints will follow). Hagar Park is a wonderful park which has picnic shelters, restrooms, plenty of caches in it and a wonderful play area for the "Micro Cachers".

The Chapter also has a "Thank You" prize which we will give away later on during the after party. To be eligible for it though, you must be registered (where you'll get your ticket to enter) and working at Timmer Farm by no later than 1:30 PM.

The chapter will also be holding a skill game to help cover costs. Any extra money raised over the amount spent for the event will be added to the SW Chapter's balance in the hopes of throwing more cool shindigs for all of us.


Timmer Farm CITO Schedule:
Time Activity
12:00 PM Check in at Timmer Farm and get any instructions
12:30 PM - 3:30 PM Clean up the Park
1:30 PM Cut off time to be eligible for Prize must be working at the Cito by this time.
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM After clean up party, Potluck, socilization, etc...
4:45 PM Winner of Skill Game Announced
5:00 PM Give away thank you prize, closing remarks and Thank you's. Feel free to go caching, hang out and visit with friends or just leave with our thanks for a great CITO event.
